June marks the fourth and final month of our proposal story competition (for now, anyway)!
We have been asking couples to let us know their love stories and how they arrived at that perfect proposal moment. We have received so many amazing stories and each month we have offered one lucky couple £100 off their wedding rings at Charles Nobel.
We couldn’t think of a better story to round off our competition than Emily and Joe’s Parisian proposal. Aptly named the ‘city of love’, Paris has long been a favourite for couples to get engaged and with its timeless beauty, it’s easy to see why.

Emily and Joe first met in a pub in the beautiful market town of Wimborne. Having mutual friends, they were surprised that their paths hadn’t crossed before. After a short chat, Joe messaged Emily the next day and they have been inseparable ever since!
Having been to Paris a few times together previously, this City already had a place in Emily and Joe’s hearts. In fact, Joe gave Emily a promise ring in Paris for her 21st birthday and there was another ring she needed to finish the set!
On their 5 year anniversary, Joe surprised Emily with a trip to Paris. After dining at a 5 star hotel for breakfast, the couple went to the historic Bir-Hakeim bridge which crosses the beautiful river Seine. With the picture-perfect view of the Eiffel Tower, Joe got to one knee and asked Emily to marry him.
As if Joe hadn’t already planned this proposal perfectly enough, he had organised a photographer to capture the moment and a two hour photo shoot ensued. Now that’s what we call preparation! We are thrilled to be able to share some of these wonderful photos with you.
Emily’s ring is a rose gold band, with a brilliant cut 1.5ct diamond with recycled shoulder diamonds. A truly beautiful piece that makes us proud to be a part of this incredible proposal story.
Emily and Joe’s Paris proposal story is a classic tale of romance that we felt was very deserving of our £100 toward the cost of their wedding rings. We can’t wait to help them to choose the perfect rings for their special day.
