Annie and George’s Magical Northern Lights Proposal Story

September 5, 2018

April marks the second month of our proposal story competition and choosing a winner wasn’t any easier with a lot of amazing stories to hear about!

Each month, we ask couples to share their engagement stories with us for the chance to win £100 towards their Charles Nobel wedding rings. We received so many wonderful entries in April but Annie and George’s magical proposal in Iceland was a story that we had to share.

How they met

Just like Kate and Will, Annie and George met at University and their love blossomed after their first date at a cocktail bar.

How he asked

Annie and George planned a romantic holiday to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. Being lucky enough to see them on their first night, George seized the opportunity for the perfect proposal and got down on one knee (which must have been quite chilly in the snow!).

Overwhelmed by the romantic setting, Annie of course said yes!

The ring

Annie’s engagement ring is a beautiful white gold and diamond solitaire ring. The perfect piece for Annie that wonderfully represents and celebrates the couple’s love and relationship.

The Winners

Annie and George’s proposal story and setting really stood out and we are very pleased to offer them £100 towards their rings for the big day.

If you are engaged, we would love to hear your story. To enter our monthly competition, please visit our entry form for more details and to apply.

If you are planning as romantic a proposal as Annie and George’s and need some advice, read our blog on 11 Steps to The Perfect Proposal, or check out our specialist guides with advice on how to choose an engagement ring and much more.

My lovely eternity ring, given to me by my mother holds great sentimental value for me.
The spinnels were old and damaged so I decided to have the ring altered with diamonds replacing the spinnels.
Piers,a jeweller at Charles Nobel Jewellers,New Milton, inserted the diamonds with great care and expertise.
He has transformed my ring and I can thoroughly recommend him and his father,Charles.
Their service, knowledge and craftsmanship are excellent.

My antique engagement diamond solitaire ring (which I had worn for 41 years), was in need of a new shank. At the same time I was advised to renew the setting. I was concerned that a new setting would change the character of the ring. I couldn’t have been more wrong!! The ring looks fabulous. The setting has improved the appearance of my diamond enormously and I have to admit I was quite emotional when I saw the result of the “repair “. I now have a beautiful new ring which has maintained its character but has been brought up to date. Thank you too to the Charles Nobel staff for their advice and craftsmanship! I am a very satisfied customer!
